Alternative Perspectives On The Next Century. "What is past is prologue," Shakespeare comments in The Tempest. That is as true for the real world of today and tomorrow as it was for the Bard's literary world of yesterday. One hopes that no future historian will be able to write a history of the coming century under the title The Tempest.
