Do you know someone who is particularly successful with memory skills? Is this person always bringing his notes with him to the cafeteria, gym, work, or even when visiting home? What memorization techniques does this person use? Does this person always seem to be memorizing the exact material that is always on his exams? Is he able to have conversations about the material that was covered in class a month ago with his fellow classmates? Is this person able to help you study for an exam, in a class you are taking now, because he remembers the information from the same class he was previously enrolled in?

How does he do it? Would others benefit from his experiences? If so, nominate this person to be the focus of the Speaking of Success feature in Chapter nine of the next edition of P.O.W.E.R. Learning. In a brief essay, written in the space below, explain why you feel this person would be a good choice as a role model for successful memory skills. Be sure to give specific examples of his success. Broad generalities won't suffice. At the end of the semester, all the students using the text and this Web site will be allowed to vote for their choice, although you will not be able to vote for your nomination.
