The Case of... The Brain Game

The focus of Chapter nine is improving your memory skills. What kind of new information do you link with old information that is already in your memory? Are you more comfortable memorizing by mnemonic devices or by studying note cards? How many times do you rehearse and revise your notes from your courses? How do you go about actively memorizing? For instance, do you speak aloud when memorizing? Or do you use the keyword technique or the peg method?

Chapter nine asks you to focus on improving your memory skills, so your learning techniques are most effective and efficient. In college, you don’t have time to poorly memorize the information that you receive from your courses. Time is valuable and knowledge is too! Successful memorization techniques lead students to mastery of their education.

In the box below, explain the method you find most successful in memory skills. Other students may profit from your knowledge and experience, or you may get some helpful ideas from other students.
