| In the knee jerk reflex, the lower leg swings forward quickly when an area just below the knee is tapped. In order for this relfex to occur, a message travels through a sensory neuron to the spinal cord, where an interneuron carries it to a motor neuron, which sends the information to the leg muscle and causes the movement. |
