CAT Scan
The Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT) technique uses a series of X–rays taken along an axis to reveal brain structures and abnormalities. The subject is given an injection of a radioactive substance that is absorbed by brain tissue, providing an outline of the structure. Pictured here is a CAT scan of a normal human brain.
